The Queen Street West BIA (Business Improvement Area) is proud to announce our first annual Halloween festival.

FREE Walking Tours Exploring the Dark History of Queen West

Queen Street West is one of the most popular streets in Toronto and considered one of the coolest neighbourhoods in the world. Despite the shiny storefronts and the appearance of big chain stores, there are shadowy nooks and crannies and stories as dark as a raven’s beak.

This tour is an exploration of Queen Street’s dark past, with stories of the criminal underworld of gangsters and gun smugglers and the alternative underground goth culture which was based here for more than a decade beginning in the 90s. We will look at some of the influences on the goth look from pop culture and how in turn pop culture was influenced by the goth scene.

Above all, this is a chance to learn more about this famous part of Toronto and to experience it in a way most never have, walking it with a local expert tour guide!
